Ringing doorbell announced delivery guy with package from Switzerland. Very small package with even smaller box containing newest colorimeter unit from DataColor. Package change is very noticeable. Compare to previous models this one is as small as possible. Especially because measuring unit is smaller than previous two models and even original intro models. It's hard to say if new unit design is better than previous. Visually I liked previous design more but from practical stand of point new design is simply... more practical. It's better compatible with curved screen and counterweight is usable as cover for sensor.
Spyder 5 Pro software is not very different from Spyder 4 Pro. It's sad because Spyder software is the most horrible looking software for macOS ever made. Especially because Spyder software is more protected by licence than its HW unit. Every time I see this software on my screen I feel robbed.
Results are interesting too. While Spyder 4 Pro show about 96% of sRGB on my Macbook Pro screen and 100% on my DELL 4K display, Spyder 5 Pro show exact opposite. Well I like Macbook Pro screen image feeling more than the one on DELL so I'm happy my laptop is now probably calibrated better than before. But how it is possible? I'm totally confused. What's more frustrating than image that on DELL looks way too much different than image on Macbook. Difference is so huge that I have trouble to trust calibration results.
I hope that Apple is going to release new Thunderbolt display with wide gamut support this fall.

SONY A9
I've decided to write short reviews for all my SONY equipment. I am going to start with the A9. This camera was the reason why I switched from Canon to SONY, which cost me an unbelievable amount of money. My last Canon camera was the 1DX II. It was undoubtedly a great camera, but it was too great - heavy and loud like a monster. Definitely too big and heavy for me. So I knew I had to downsize to a smaller and lighter camera, but which one? Canon had the 5D IV, a decent camera, but SONY announced a firmware update for the A9 with animal eye tracking. It caught my attention, and because there was a sale on the A9 with an FE mount adapter, I decided to give it a try. I thought I could try it and sell it with minimal financial loss. Well, when the A9 arrived, I was surprised by how sturdy the small body was. It fit perfectly in my hand, and I fell in love with its design. Looking through the LED viewfinder was strange for the first few days, but I got used to it. The autofocus wasn't
Just note about AI
When I came back I have noticed that most of the images in the feed are AI generated. They look really good. But, I can't see them as an art. They are more like a lottery you just won. You prompt generator and you eventually get really nice output. Sometimes you use your photoshop skills to fix errors and finish the image. Still I don't consider it art. Then I found that DA implemented way to tag images with AI and filter them out. Thanks God!
Still alive! (update)
It's pathetically funny to read my "recent" updates. Because every each of them promising something which isn't fulfilled at the end. It perfectly describe my life. Very engaged but overwhelmed by myself and unable finish many of my ideas. Maybe because in my opinion I'm constantly pushing myself into unnatural positions. I shall relax, reduce my aspirations and try to rediscover who I am. I won't be talking too much about my life here. I would rather talk about my photography. So, first I sold all my Canon equipment. No, I am not quitting. I switched to SONY. It happened 4 years ago. First got A9, then I tried first SONY lens 85/1.8 and I was fully sold. It was very expensive transition. Got many SONY G and GM lenses and even bought second camera this year, A7RV. But thanks got I got friends at SONY and they greatly helped me. I also started experimenting with film cameras. Got Hasselblad 503CX and Nikon FE and F2S. I think I won't be investing too much into film photography but
(end of?) Unconscious life
What happened to him? Is he still alive? Doesn't he photograph anymore? Maybe some of you were wondering where I have gone. No more mystery, I have been living unconscious life. What the heck does it mean? Conscious life is when you have control about your life. That mean you know what you want and where you are heading. Losing control and start slipping into unmanned chaos is pretty easy. It start with thinking that you are responsible for somebody else and you shall do your max to help them. What is hard is recognise that not everybody are really worth of all your energy. For example there are many projects and companies that will make you feel that you are responsible for their success so you must work really hard otherwise they fail. Guess what? If it is their fortune then they will fail anyway. Success or failure is not depended on amount of work you as an employee put into the project. It is an illusion. So I have lost control over my life. Working more than healthy. In mean
